Quotation from Moshe Sharett “The state of Israel cannot be ruled … without deceit and adventurism” — 1956

2nd "moderate" President of Israel, in his notebooks, shortly before his resignation in 1956.

Author : Thematics :
" I have learned that the state of Israel cannot be ruled in our generation without deceit and adventurism. These are historical facts that cannot be altered. . . In the end, history will justify both the stratagems and deceit and the acts of adventurism. All I know is that I, Sharett, Moshe, am not capable of them, and I am therefore unsuited to lead this country. "
