" Si j’étais Arabe, un Arabe avec une conscience politique nationaliste … je me dresserais encore plus vigoureusement, amèrement et désespérément contre une immigration qui mettra un jour la Palestine et tous ses habitants Arabes sous pouvoir juif.  Ce que les Arabes ne peuvent pas faire, c’est calculer et comprendre qu’une immigration de 60.000 [Juifs] par an veut dire un État juif dans toute la Palestine. "
" Were I an Arab, and Arab with nationalist political consciousness . . . I would rise up even more vigorously, bitterly, and desperately against an immigration liable in the future to hand the country and all of its Arab inhabitants over to Jewish rule. What Arab cannot do his math and understand that immigration at the rate of 60,000 a year means a Jewish state in all of Palestine. "
