Peu après le début de la grande révolte palestinienne, lors d’un meeting du parti Mapaï, exprimant clairement l’enjeu de la colonisation : une patrie « pour eux » ou « pour nous ».

[…] Il s’agit d’un conflit fondamental. D’un côté comme de l’autre, on cherche la même chose : chacun de nous veut la Palestine. […] Par le fait même de notre présence et de nos progrès sur cette terre, [nous] avons nourri le mouvement [arabe}. "
