Quotation from Yosef Weitz “His opinion is that we must act ...as to transform the exodus of the Arabs into an established fact” — May 28 1948

KKL-JNF leader in a meeting with newly appointed Foreign Minister Moshe Shertok (Sharett) to formalize the "transfer committee" to make the expulsion of Palestinians irreversible.

Author : Thematics :
" « Transfer—post factum; should we do something so as to transform the exodus of the Arabs from the country into a fact, so that they return no more?... His (Shertok's) answer: he blesses any initiative in this matter. His opinion is also that we must act in such a way as to transform the exodus of the Arabs into an established fact...but the Foreign Minister wanted first to consult with Ben-Gurion and Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan. »

According to Shertok, Weitz suggested that " a three-person committee" composed of 'Ezra Danin, Elias Sasson (who headed the Arab Affairs Department of the Jewish Agency), and himself, be appointed to "work out a plan of action directed [at achieving] the transfer goal." "
