Au sein des peuples européens, dont la composition raciale est tout autre que celle des Juifs, ces derniers ont l'effet (pour citer l'écrivain juif Buber) d'un "coin enfoncé par l'Asie dans la structure européenne, une source de ferment et de perturbation".
