[wrong] Words attributed to Chaim Weizmann “Those Jews living outside Palestine are not too important” — 1942
Apocryphal or wrong quotation or doubtful.
- Weizmann, Chaim (1874-1952) ( 25 quotations )
The most valuable part of the Jewish nation is already in Palestine, and those Jews living outside Palestine are not too important.
This would have been pronounced by Weizmann in 1942 during discussions with the British on the departure of 300 rabbis and their families to Mauritius. Seems to come originally, without source or precision, from the anti-Zionist rabbi Michael Ber Weissmandel.
